If you would prefer to create your dialogs and whatnot in a separate file, you can take advantage of a vestigial “feature” of the demo application and place them all in a file named “PictDemo.rsrc”.  Resources in this file will always be used in preference to ones in the application itself.  The file should be placed in the same folder as this demo application.

Copy the ‘vers’ and ‘CDEF’ resources from this demo into the file before using.  This keeps the aforementioned “TextPages” command happy.

If you would find a more generalized version of this application useful, let me know and I’ll give some thought to it.
